Start your day by climbing the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, often dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Marvel at the frescoes, landscaped water gardens, and the breathtaking panoramic views from the summit.
Later, explore Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka during the 11th and 12th centuries. 🗓️ Day 3: Dambulla Cave Temple – Temple of the Tooth – Kandy Cultural Show (Overnight in Kandy)
Travel to the sacred Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO-listed site featuring five caves filled with over 150 serene Buddha statues and colorful ceiling murals.
Continue to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural heartland, nestled among rolling hills. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists worldwide. 🗓️ Day 4: Kandy – Galle Fort (Overnight in Galle)
Depart from the central hills and head south toward the coastal charm of Galle. Visit the iconic Galle Dutch Fort, a 16th-century coastal stronghold originally built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch. This UNESCO World Heritage Site beautifully illustrates the fusion of European architecture with South Asian traditions. 🗓️ Day 5: Galle – Madu River Safari – Colombo – Departure
Begin your day with a tranquil boat safari on the Madu River, where you’ll explore lush mangroves, cinnamon islands, and spot local wildlife.
Continue to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, for a brief city tour (time permitting), before transferring to the airport for your onward journey.
